- So there’s a 20 point gap between the two clubs
- Only that gap is from Leicester to Chelsea
- Leicester go back top with a win over the fallen champions, they’ve already lost 9 league games this season
- Even though Jamie Vardy got on the scoresheet the plaudits last night must go to Riyad Mahrez who set up the first and scored Leicester’s second
- This is a player that cost only £300k what you put that into perspective it’s what Wayne Rooney earns in a week
- Not only our Leicester top again they are now 9 points clear of Tottenham in 5th, whisper it quietly but do we now have to consider Leicester as Champions League contenders
- I suppose we also have to whisper a similar question in can Chelsea actually be relegated this season
- After 16 games the table doesn’t lie, it’s no accident that they now sit 16th in the table
- Leicester winning the League and Chelsea being relegated may be knee jerk statements this morning but the longer this continues the less of a fluke it is
- If both clubs are in the same positions after the Xmas fixtures then the January transfer window could be huge
- Leicester adding an extra face or two to reinforce a Top 4/Title tilt, Chelsea to get someone in to roll up their sleeves and get Chelsea out of this mess
- Eden Hazard obviously didn’t fancy it last night then
- Nor did Chelsea’s attackers in the first half – 4 touches in Leicester’s penalty area….woeful
- Admittedly Chelsea did improve in the 2nd half but it took a 2-0 deficit to wake them up and why didn’t Loic Remy just smash the ball when it came to him on the edge of the box. That just sums up a team lacking in confidence
- Jose Mourinho usually likes to park the bus but with his post match interview it sounded like he threw the whole team under it
- His comment where he said “One possibility is that I did an amazing job last season and brought the players to a level that is not their level and now they can’t maintain it.” is pretty much saying that Mourinho was the reason for their success last season and not the players
- A great way to alienate the dressing room there Jose
- So Leicester travel to Everton next week while Chelsea somehow find themselves in a relegation 6 pointer at home to Sunderland
- Football eh, bloody hell!
