Leicester vs Bournemouth – Match Preview

Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has been struggling with a virus this week but the Premier League’s joint top goalscorer is expected to play.

Jeffrey Schlupp and Matty James remain the Foxes only certain absentees due to respective hamstring and knee problems.

Bournemouth have reported no fresh injuries following defeat at Arsenal.

Lee Tomlin was an unused substitute at the Emirates on his comeback from injury, while Glenn Murray and Junior Stanislas are also options to start.

Editor’s Note: The wheels have ever so slightly come off the Leicester express over Christmas. With their defeat in 10 matches away at Liverpool and a stalemate at home to Manchester City on Tuesday.

It will be Claudio Ranieri’s job this afternoon to make sure the train isn’t derailed further by the visit of Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side.

Over the last couple of matches Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez’s performances have just slipped from the high levels they have been displaying this season and they will be looking to bounce back in the best possible way today by getting on the scoresheet.

First and foremost Claudio Ranieri will be aiming to get to the magical 40 point marker but in the back of his mind he must be hoping that Leicester’s momentum and incredible start to the season doesn’t slip away.

One man hoping to put a further halt on that today is Eddie Howe who will look to try and claim another scalp after already masterminding wins over Manchester United and Chelsea.

Their unbeaten run came to end on Monday when they were beaten by Arsenal in a game in fairness they were never really in and today I think it will be more of the same for Bournemouth.

I expect Leicester to end this mini wobble today and firstly at least in Ranieri’s eyes secure Premier League Football for next season but also keep their hunt for the title and this incredibly adventure alive. Home win for me.
