It may have taken 8 hours of online queuing, failed phone calls, many swear words and sitting in the highest tier of Wembley Stadium but the most important thing is that I managed to finally get hold of tickets for all of Tottenham’s home Champions League group games at Wembley. I’m not going to lie I’m absolutely chuffed to bits, Tottenham’s adventures in the Champions League back in the 2010/11 season where incredible to watch on TV and this is too good an opportunity to miss. It may have been a 6 year wait but we are finally back in the big time and also what is set to be three full houses at Wembley Stadium.
The demand also bodes well for being able to get the full stadium capacity for Premier League games next season. Imagine a North London Derby in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley, how good would that be!. If I had one criticism of the process though it’s that they should have tiered the membership levels a bit better, I imagine a lot of people would have got new memberships solely for this purpose and would have had the same purchasing access as long standing ones. Whether or not that’s fair is a different debate, but at least I’ve got a ticket so I won’t complain.
Also I’m off to the Olympic Stadium tonight as West Ham make history as they play their first game in their new home. That and they have it all to do if they are to progress to the next round of the Europa League. Slaven Bilic’s side currently trail Domazle 2-1 from the first leg, so at least there will be a competitive game to watch and not just a walk in the park. I’ll give a full rundown of the game and what the stadium is like Tomorrow.
