Gavi Signs New Barcelona Deal
Spain midfielder Gavi has marked another agreement with Barcelona until 2026, with a 1bn euros (£865m) buyout clause.
The 18-year-old has played for Barcelona since 2015 and was previously under contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.
He made his senior debut in August 2021, age 17 years and 24 days, making him the fourth-most youthful player in the club’s history.
While Gavi has played in each of Barcelona’s La Liga matches this season.
He became the club’s third-most youthful scorer when he got against Elche in December 2021.
The previous youth team member has also been a fundamental player for Spain since making his debut in October 2021, becoming the youngest ever player at senior level.
Not only that, but he became Spain’s youngest ever scorer against the Czech Republic in June – aged 17 years and 304 days – breaking the record set in 2020 by fellow Barcelona star Ansu Fati.
