Friday News Round Up

Sunderland have made another signing in the January Transfer Window with Dame N’Doye joining on loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor. The 30 year old former Hull City Striker has not been cleared in time to face Tottenham Tomorrow Lunchtime. Sam Allardyce feels that with Doye having Premier League experience he’ll be able to hit the ground running and hopefully score the goals that keep The Black Cats up this season.

Leeds have accepted a £4m bid from Everton for Defender Sam Byram. The 22 year old who came through their Academy is out of contract in the Summer and Leeds will have to sell this Month if they are to get a fee for him. Although a bid has been accepted there could be other bids coming in with West Ham reportedly eyeing up the player also.

It’s all change in The Championship with Jose Riga returning to Charlton as Manager while Steve Cotterill has been sacked as Manager of Bristol City. It’s a bit harsh on Cotterill as he took Bristol City up from League One last season but they are struggling in the drop zone this season. But it seems as if Cotterill has been told thanks for all your efforts but we need a change of direction. You almost wonder why Managers just don’t get a pay off at the end of the season once they’ve achieved promotion and part ways then, would save the acrimonious sackings the following season. Harsh on Cotterill but that’s modern day Football for you.
