Exeter midfielder David Wheeler is unlikely to have recovered from an ankle injury in time to face Liverpool.
Right-back Christian Ribeiro and midfielder David Noble could start their first games since November after returning from injury as substitutes.
Liverpool are without a senior centre-back after Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure were ruled out through injury.
Philippe Coutinho is also out as Liverpool go into the match with 11 senior players in the treatment room.
Manager Jurgen Klopp could hand Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo and Tiago Ilori their debuts after they were recalled from loan spells.
Editor’s Note: Liverpool will be looking for their second cup win in the space of less than a week as they make the long trip down to Exeter tonight. During their League Cup victory against Stoke on Tuesday the sounds of hamstring’s pinging was the noisiest as Jurgen Klopp’s injury list grows.
With Dejan Lovren and Philippe Coutinho coming off in the first half and Kolo Toure struggling to finish the game, Jurgen Klopp has a selection headache especially at Centre Back as there are no recognised players available. Lucas Leiva who deputised in that position on Tuesday looks set to do that job again as Klopp will send out a patched up back line tonight.
They face an Exeter side who will be looking to claim a massive cup scalp and with Liverpool’s physio room full to bursting at the moment they will have ever reason to fancy their chances. Paul Tisdale the Exeter Manager will be looking at this cup game as a distraction from their league form with The Grecians currently sitting in 16th place in League Two.
I think even with Liverpool’s injury misery they still have more than enough talent for them to overcome this cup banana skin, unfortunately for Exeter I think they’re cup exploits will end here. A relatively comfortable away win for me.
