Everton will make a late decision on whether to select James McCarthy, who has missed their last three games with a hip problem.
Centre-back John Stones is fit despite suffering a heavy fall at Norwich.
Leicester full-back Jeffrey Schlupp is out for six weeks with a hamstring injury, while Danny Drinkwater is also sidelined with a similar problem.
Robert Huth serves a ban, while Ritchie de Laet remains unavailable because of an ankle problem.
Editor’s Note: League leaders Leicester….yes that’s right Leicester travel to Goodison Park today where a win would put them one step closer to the unbelievable feat of being top of the table at Xmas.
On Monday they got the better of an abject Chelsea in what was subsequently Jose Mourinho’s last game for the club, a game in which Jamie Vardy started what could be another scoring streak and Riyad Mahrez grabbed the headlines for his match winning performance.
The fixture computer hasn’t been kind to Leicester this month and this will be a massive test of their resolve over the next few weeks with also matches against Liverpool and Manchester City to come but with confidence flying high there’s no reason why these urban Foxes can’t get some joy today.
Only they travel to Goodison with some key men missing with Robert Huth out suspended and injuries to Jeffrey Schlupp and Danny Drinkwater. Players who will be sorely missed and this will put an extra onus on the Vardy and Mahrez duo if they are to get a result.
They go up against an Everton side who are probably still asking themselves how they didn’t win at Carrow Road last week after running Norwich ragged in the first 45 minutes. It’s no exaggeration to say they could have been 5-0 up by half time.
They have a striker in red hot form in the way of Romelu Lukaku but his goals aren’t being supported by results and The Toffee’s league place as they currently sit in 10th but in fairness, 5th and 11th are only separated by 3 points so if they were to get a run going then they could quickly move up the table.
I don’t think that run will start today but with Leicester missing key men, Lukaku may get some joy. It’s going to be a tale of Lukaku vs Vardy, don’t be surprised if they both score. I reckon it’s a draw at Goodison Park
i think this is the proving match for Leicester and they should show us that they really belong to the top position
