- Favourites Manchester United will no doubt be happy with their draw as the treble of cup competitions is still very much alive
- Perhaps travelling to Russia will bring it’s own problems but you would imagine that after disposing of Saint-Etienne in the previous round this will provide no tougher of an opponent
- As for the rest of the draw Roma being paired up with Lyon poses an interesting tie but after Roma’s demolition of Villarreal you would imagine they will be now the favourites to meat Manchester United in the final
- Schalke vs Borussia Monchengladbach provides an interesting all German clash now that country protection has been removed from the draw
- Monchengladbach have dropped out of the Champions League but Schalke have the better domestic form this season, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will proceed from that one
- Olympiakos vs Besiktas brings a nice Greece vs Turkey rivalry to proceedings, those two matches will be passionate to sat the least
- Apoel Nicosia’s reward for disposing of Athletic Bilbao is a pairing with Anderlecht
- While Belgian’s teams are very well represented at this stage of this competition

Gent and Genk have been paired together in the
#EuropaLeague Round of 16 I guess that’s the Next Gen Derby….(I make absolutely no apologies for that pun) - Tottenham fans’ hopes of a Euro jolly in Amsterdam will have been thwarted for another year after their shock exit last night
- It looks like if they are going to have an away day they will have to start being FC Copenhagen fans as they have been paired with Ajax
- While Iago Aspas and his Celta Vigo teammates are paired with FC Krasnodar of Russia
