Crystal Palace vs Manchester United – Match Preview

Yohan Cabaye is a doubt for Crystal Palace after missing the midweek defeat at Manchester City because of injury.

Pape Souare and Joel Ward are also doubtful, but Jason Puncheon has recovered from illness. Marouane Chamakh and Connor Wickham remain out.

Manchester United duo Memphis Depay and James Wilson are unavailable after both were forced off against Middlesbrough.

Antonio Valencia and Paddy McNair are ruled out with respective foot and abdominal injuries.

Ashley Young is edging closer to full fitness after playing for almost an hour in midweek, while Luke Shaw remains a long-term absentee.

Editor’s Note: Crystal Palace who currently sit 7th will be looking to claim an upset on Saturday, the news that Yohan Cabaye is injured will be a big blow as the Frenchman has been a key man so far for The Eagles. What is in their favour is the fact that United went to extra time and penalties on Wednesday, so a lack of sharpness could be an issue for the Red Devils.

Manchester United haven’t scored in over 270 minutes of League and Cup Football now and the ever growing problem of what to do with a misfiring Wayne Rooney becomes more and more apparent each week. Anthony Martial seems to be wasted out on the left wing but unless injured there seems to be no way that Rooney will be dropped from spearheading the United attack line

I’m going to stick my neck on the line slightly and reckon this game will be a draw. More from a lack of United Goals than Palace’s attacking endeavor.
