Chelsea are again without Eden Hazard and Radamel Falcao, who are sidelined by respective groin and thigh problems.
Winger Pedro could lose his starting spot after a poor display against West Brom, with Kenedy an alternative option for the champions.
Everton reported no new injury concerns after their draw at Manchester City.
Tom Cleverley has a 50/50 chance of returning from an ankle injury on Saturday, but Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy remain out.
Forward Steven Naismith, who is a transfer target for Swansea, has a minor ankle injury and will not be involved.
Editor’s Note: Chelsea are still yet to lose under Guus Hiddink but will no doubt be disappointed with only managing a draw at home to West Brom on Wednesday. The Chelsea revival is taking place albeit at a slower pace than people would have imagined.
Then again with Chelsea’s season being what it is, maybe a point at home to West Brom is pretty much what you can expect from them. If that is the case then they will be in for difficult afternoon at Stamford Bridge Today.
Diego Costa looks more like his old self with him getting more goals in the short reign of Hiddink than he did under Mourinho’s era this season. Chelsea must be grateful for that because the other attacking options are few and far between right now
Everton aren’t faring too much better to be honest their 11th place in the league could also be classed as underachievement this season, although not quite on the Chelsea scale. A decent point perhaps on Wednesday away at Manchester City but they’ve only won 1 out of their last 5 matches.
For all of Everton’ attacking prowess that they have shown this season they have been let down by their defence, the fact they kept a clean sheet in Midweek will be a big boost for Roberto Martinez and it’s no coincidence that this took place with Captian Phil Jagielka back in the side.
Romelu Lukaku will no doubt love to get a goal against his former club, what Chelsea would give for him in their side this season. He draw a blank on Wednesday but I would imagine he will be up for this return to West London where he was never really given the opportunity to show his talent before being farmed out to West Brom and then Everton on loan.
Chelsea vs Everton is always a decent encounter and one that Everton seem to enjoy, I think we will have a good game on our hands with honours being even at the end of it. A result that in all honesty will do neither team any favours.
