Arsenal vs Sunderland – Match Preview

Arsenal’s Theo Walcott might return after five weeks out with a calf problem, and Laurent Koscielny could play despite hurting a hip last week.

But Santi Cazorla is likely to be out until March with a knee injury, one of a long list of Arsenal absentees.

Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe is out with a hamstring injury, and Sebastian Larsson, who has been troubled by a knee injury, is also sidelined.

Defender Billy Jones is available after being banned for the win over Stoke.

Editor’s Note: Arsenal have two notable absences added to their growing injury list in the form of Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez both men were injured in the draw against Norwich on Sunday which doesn’t only seem costly in terms of league position but also in terms of personnel.

Arsenal now haven’t won in 3 matches and now find themselves in 4th place, for all the talk of a Championship challenge earlier in the season it seems the bout of autumn injuries is set to derail another title tilt. Tomorrow they go up against a Sunderland who have not only won their last two matches but have also kept two clean sheets in the process.

It’s seems as if the Big Sam Great Escape is starting to pick up pace after a slow start in which the usual win against Newcastle was the only high point. But Allardyce has now managed to steady the ship but will face a tough test tomorrow as they visit The Emirates.

With the injuries of Cazorla and Sanchez there will be even more added focus on Mesut Ozil to pull the strings in Midfield especially with Oliver Giroud misfiring lately. I think Tomorrow Arsenal will break their mini slump and get their first league win in 4 matches. A home win for me.
