- Leicester snatch a point at the death to extend the lead at the top of the Premier League to 8 points for at least 24 hours
- A dramatic ending of their game against West Ham when Leonardo Ulloa slotted home a 95th minute penalty, but that point comes with a cost
- That being the suspension of Jamie Vardy who after being sent off will now their trip to Swansea next weekend.
- Referee John Moss grabs all the headlines after sending off Vardy for two bookable offences, the second coming after a dive by Vardy
- Did Vardy need to go to ground? – they may have come away with a point but it makes the trip to South Wales next weekend certainly no easier. Claudio Ranieri will now be hoping that Stoke can do them a favour this evening.
- As for West Ham it’s another 2 points dropped. That’s 4 draws in a row now and that is probably the one that kills off their hopes of a Top 4 place at the end of the season. The other concern now is a resurgent Liverpool who could yet snatch that 6th place
- Their bid was helped by a 2-1 win over Bournemouth yesterday. There was no Europa League hangover after their incredible comeback on Thursday night
- That win sees them go 8th but they more importantly still have games in hand on all the sides above them
- Jurgen Klopp took the opportunity to rest some key players but it was still a decent win for Liverpool as they look to balance Premier League and Europa League campaigns
- As for Bournemouth with safety assured the only thing Eddie Howe has to make sure is that the standards don’t drop between now and the end of the season
- Three defeats from their last four matches but in fairness they were against Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool so we shouldn’t be too harsh in what has been a fantastic season for the South Coast side
- Is there worry at The Emirates, a second draw in a row now sees them slip to 4th behind Manchester City and they now may have to start worrying about Manchester United breathing down their necks for the last 4 matches
- Two dropped points yesterday at The Emirates for Arsenal as Yannick Bolasie’s late equaliser cancelled out Alexis Sanchez’s opener. The irate fanbase at Arsenal sees to be a bit louder today
- They should still have enough to finish in the Top 4, but if they weren’t would that finally enough for Arsene Wenger to step down?
- As for Palace then that point should be enough to kill off any nagging doubts of a relegation battle. They can now focus fully on their F.A. Cup Semi Final at the weekend.
