Stoke vs Arsenal a few quick thoughts

- A 0-0 draw. Arsenal don’t tend to do too well at The Britannia so a point here is probably not to be sniffed at
- That point still takes them top but in the wider context the gap to Manchester City is now only a point
- Will a point be enough of a gap, do Arsenal need to try and get further distance on their rivals considering City seem to be finding their stride again especially as Sergio Aguero is now fully fit and back in the goals.
- As for Today, it was certainly one for the Goalkeepers
- Jack Butland making an important save in the first half but Petr Cech was certainly the busier Goalkeeper in the Second
- Arsenal didn’t offer too much going forward and although they haven’t missed Alexis Sanchez all that much since his injury they certainly missed Mesut Ozil
- They seem to be a different proposition without those two in the side, they certainly can’t afford many other situations where they are both missing
- Stoke looked lively with Marko Arnautovic proving to be a handful all game but they try as they might they just couldn’t breach the Arsenal net
- Theo Walcott was ineffectual again out on the wing, I think he would be better used as an impact sub, that will probably be the guess when Sanchez returns
- Much will be made of this result and whether Arsenal truly have the mettle to go on and win the title, if you are to be Champions then these are the games you have to be winning
- That said Manchester City were comfortably beaten here and Arsenal find themselves a point ahead thanks to this draw, so maybe this draw may make all the difference after all.
- I think there will certainly be more twists and turns in this title race but The Gunners have made it a little bit more difficult for themselves
- At least celebrities can sleep easy tonight as Aaron Ramsey didn’t score
