Sochaux's French coach Herve Renard attends the French L1 football match Lorient vs Sochaux on October 26, 2013

Lille manager Herve Renard has claimed that his side deserved a win against Montpellier HSC after the effort they put into the game. Les Dogues picked their second victory of the season against La Paillade thanks to goals from Sofiane Boufal and Djibril Sidibe. However, Renard has suggested that the win has put Lille in a better position after a “average” start to the season. He is quoted by Ligue 1.com as saying: “We’ve finally been rewarded for our efforts. It’s a match which could have damaged our confidence, at least we avoided that. It’s a deserved win. “We’re going to enjoy this win and prepare ourselves well during the international break for the trip to Guingamp, which is always a difficult place to go to. “With quarter of the season gone, we have had an average campaign so far. We’re lacking three points for it to be a good one.” The victory moves Lille into 11th place in Ligue 1.
Reports that Herve went straight out on the piss and doesn’t intend to do Monday’s training due to a severe Red Wine Headache have neither been confirmed or denied at this stage.
