#HerveWatch – Herve makes it two wins from two

Herve Renard’s 100% record as Morocco Manager is still intact after a comfortable 2-0 win over Cape Verde last night. More importantly the win has secured qualification to the 2017 edition of the African Cup of Nations as he looks to become the first man to ever win the competition three times and with three different nations (what a Man)

It was Youssef El-Arabi who was the difference on Saturday as The Atlas Lions came away from Praia with a 1-0 win and it was the Granada man who was the difference again last night as his brace was the difference between the two sides

With the deadlock failing to be broken by either side in the first half it took a repeat of Saturday and after 56 minutes a Penalty was awarded to give Morocco  the opportunity ahead  and once again El-Arabi stepped up  and coolly slotted home. 5 minutes later El- Arabi had doubled the advantage and secured all 3 points

Even though Cape Verde are 6 points behind with still two games to go and could mathematically catch Morocco they can only finish second in the group due to CAF’s head to head rules when it comes to tie breakers. They will now have to hope they are one of the two best group runners up although they find themselves in 6th but with the two hardest group fixtures out of the way

As for Morocco with qualification to next year’s tournament assured Herve Renard can now use the final two group matches to get to the squad better and who knows even a bit of team bonding, I for one certainly wouldn’t put it past him.

The next game for Herve and The Atlas Lions is the 5th game of this qualification group is a trip to Libya in June. Bonne chance Herve!

Here is all the important action from last night’s match
