West Ham vs Stoke – Match Preview

Winston Reid and Victor Moses have joined West Ham’s lengthy injury list after being ruled out until the new year with hamstring problems.

The Hammers are already without Dimitri Payet, Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini, although Enner Valencia could return.

Stoke defender Marc Muniesa is expected to be involved after missing the last six games with a hamstring injury.

The Potters remain without strikers Peter Crouch and Peter Odemwingie and goalkeeper Shay Given.

Editor’s Note: West Ham seemed to have their bubble burst, it’s no coincidence that since Dimitri Payet has been injured they haven’t won any of the 3 matches, even with him in the side it’s not much better reading as Slaven Bilic’s men haven’t won in their last 5 league matches

It’s not just the injury to Payet though as the injury list gets longer by the week with new additions Winston Reid and Victor Moses now set to miss out until New Year after such a bright start to the season, West Ham’s campaign is in danger of getting derailed and they could do with stemming the tide with a win at home to Stoke tomorrow

Only that’s going to be easy especially if Stoke play like they did as they brush past Manchester City with ease. Marko Arnautovic scored twice but Xherdan Shaqiri was the man pulling the strings in Midfield and with every week that passes he looks more like the player who shone at Bayern Munich

Mark Hughes has finally soften the image and playing style of Stoke but the key element is not to the detriment of results they still are a difficult side to beat but now have more than one string to their bow

I think Stoke will pile more misery on West Ham tomorrow as their attacking unit of Arnautovic, Shaqiri and Bojan will cause The Hammers a lot of problems especially without Winston Reid in the side. An away win for me
