Valencia vs Barcelona in less than 3 minutes

Saturday saw a 5 goal thriller at The Mestalla as Barcelona just edged past Valencia thanks to a late late Lionel Messi penalty.

It was Messi himself who opened the scoring for the visitors midway through the first half but the game was turned on its head when Barcelona loanee Munir scored against his parent club to level proceedings and then Rodrigo made it 2-1 to put the hosts ahead.

The question now was whether or not Valencia could hold the Catalan giants at bay for the remaining 35 minutes or so. Well the answer was that they could only keep them at bay for 6 as Luis Suarez soon leveled proceedings to make it 2-2.

But there would be a final twist in the tale when Barcelona were awarded a spot kick with literally the last kick of the game. That said with Diego Alves in goal for Valencia scoring a penalty was no foregone conclusion.

But Messi won this particular battle as he coolly slotted home to give Barcelona a dramatic winner. The win came at a price though for Luis Enrique as Andres Iniesta was stretched off and is now set to miss 6-8 weeks of action.

The win does see Barcelona move up a place to 3rd though

Here is all you need to know from Saturday
