Barcelona have been unusually quiet in the transfer market this summer that can more than likely be explained by the fact that new manager Ernesto Valverde has only been in the role for a number of the weeks now and is still drawing up a list of transfer targets with the clubs hierarchy.
That explains what is happening in regards to incoming players but what about players who are to shown the Nou Camp exit door this summer, undoubtedly the former Athletic boss Valverde will want to put his own stamp on the squad and there will be a number of departures from the Catalan giants.
One of those could be very well be Turkish international Arda Turan who has failed to live up to the expectations that the £30m transfer fee paid for him nearly two years ago would demand. The 30 year old had to miss the first half of the 2015/16 season due to Barcelona not being allowed to register players due to a transfer ban.
And with that period of inactivity it is as if he almost missed a step and has never really managed to join the pantheon of greats that have played in the colours of the Catalan giants, with that in mind he could be set for an escape route back to Turkey.
That is because he is being monitored by three of Turkey’s biggest outfits. Those of course being Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. It is rumoured that a price of 30 million Euro would be enough to prize Turan away from the Nou Camp with all three Turkish outfits incredibly interested in bring Turan back to his homeland.
Besiktas are the current front runners as they are willing to offer the biggest contract out of three clubs, with a annual wage of 5m Euro in the offing. That blows out of the water anything that either Fenerbahce and Galatasaray can currently offer, so they will have to increase their terms to be considered.
Not only that though but any of these three clubs are going to have to offer a big wage as Arsenal are still heavily interested in signing the former Atletico Madrid and it is hoped especially from Besiktas’ point of view that they can offer Turan more money and divert any interest away from the Premier League.
