Tottenham vs Atletico Madrid in less than 5 minutes

Tottenham took on Atletico Madrid in Melbourne yesterday looking to bounce back from their defeat to Juventus on Tuesday, unfortunately though for Mauricio Pochettino’s side it was more of the same as Atletico Madrid came away 1-0 winners.

The Champions League runners up from last season has Diego Godin to thank as his 40th minute winner was the difference between the two sides and consigned Spurs to a second consecutive International Champions Cup defeat.

Once again the North London side’s lineup was without the players who were in Euro 2016 duty so it was primarily a mix of new faces, fringe players and youth teamers.

Spurs showed neat passages of play but failed to deliver the crucial cutting edge that would have led to a goal.

Two defeats in a row shouldn’t cause too much alarm to Mauricio Pochettino as he had nowhere near his full strength lineup in either game but even in defeat he would have been able to take many positives as they gear up for the start of the Premier League season in just a fortnight’s team

Here were the lineups for both sides
