The Premier League may be spending money like it is going out of fashion but that does not mean the clubs on continent have been no slouches either, we all know that PSG are ready to spend an eye watering amount of cash to land Neymar and should that finally come to fruition then it will blow these top 10 transfers out of the water.
But Neymar not withstanding, we can now take a look at the top 10 moves across Europe courtesy of the twitter account Actufoot – thanks for them for compiling this neat little infogram, I’ll now do my best to work my way through the biggest transfers.
At the top of the pile, at least for now is the signing of Corentin Tolisso who makes the move from Olympique Lyonnais to Bayern Munich. In a summer where OL have already lost Alexander Lacazette, this recent news will do little to help the mood with the Lyon fanbase.
Tolisso could be called into action as soon as this evening as Bayern Munich go head to head with Liverpool in the Audi Cup, whether he is given a run out that soon remains to be soon but there is every chance he could be named in the starting lineup for the German Supercup on Saturday when Bayern take on arch rivals Borussia Dortmund
Joint in the second in the list are two Italian transfers and they both involve Juventus. One player coming into the club is Federico Bernadeschi, who makes the move from Fiorentina after an impressive European Under 21 Championships where the young Italian’s made the Semi Final’s
For that outlay of 40m Euro, Juventus have recouped that money with the somewhat surprise sale of Leonardo Bonucci to A.C. Milan. After a reported bust up at half time with Dani Alves during the Champions League Final, both players were told they no longer have a future at the club. Will Juventus’ trash end up being A.C. The first of Real Madrid’s two entries on the list is at joint 2nd as Brazilian teenager Vinicus Jr makes the move from Flamengo for also a fee of 40m Euro. The 17 year old who is being touted as the next Neymar is however not set to move to the Bernabeu until the Summer of 2019. So we will all have to watch this space
A.C. Milan have been spending big this summer as they have no fewer than 3 entries on this list, coming in at number 5 is Portuguese youngster Andre Silva who makes the move from F.C Porto for a fee of 38m Euro. The 21 year old has played at every level for his country and also appearaed in June’s Confederations Cup.
At number 6 it is Spanish international Vitolo, who swaps Sevilla for Atletico Madrid. He however will have to be kept on ice until January as Atletico cannot register any new signings until then, a risky ploy for the player especially in a World Cup season.
Barcelona’s only entry on the list comes in at number 7 as right back Nelson Semedo joins from Benfica. He was linked with the likes of Manchester United in the summer but it is the Catalan giants who ended up winning the race for his signature, this player could well be the heir apparent to Dani Alves at the right back berth. A position they struggled to replace last season.
Real Madrid’s second entry on the list comes in at number 8 and this one would not have gone down to well in the Red and White half of the city as Theo Hernandez has made the short move across town. The left back was under contact until 2021 but has now linked up with the Champions League winners.
Youri Tielemans is at number 9 as he links up with Ligue 1 winners Monaco, with the Monte Carlo side shedding players to the elite clubs in Europe this will be something of an astute signing as they look to keep PSG at bay this season.
And rounding off the list is another A.C. Milan as they add Italian international right back Andrea Conti to their squad, he joins from Atalanta and with these new additions could this be the season where Juventus are finally knocked off of their perch?
