Real Football Man All of the Football, All of the time
Sunderland will no doubt feel that they threw away two points in the Tyne-Wear Derby before the International Break. On top for most of the game they were will no doubt rue the fact that Alexsander Mitrovic bagged a late equaliser but how costly will those two points be come the end of the season?
Truth be told though it’s not just those two points that may prove costly as they threw away two more in their previous game away at Southampton. It seems that when Sunderland play they will always have a goal in them, so if they are going to win games they are going to have to score at least twice.
Sam Allardyce went on record and said that his Sunderland side are going to need 4 wins between now and the end of the season and they will look to get the first of those wins against a West Brom side that have already secured Premier League Football for next season.
That is due to the fact that they have won 4 out of their last 5 matches and before the International Break did actually have one of the best runs of form in the league. But that unbeaten run came to an end in a forgettable loss to Norwich.
A game which saw both sides register only 1 shot between them in the whole game obviously didn’t merit much in the way of column inches but Norwich obviously felt that West Brom were there for the taking and did exactly and Sunderland should be looking to do exactly the same this Afternoon.
Tony Pulis may have reached the objective at the start of the season which was stay up but the Football offered up has been far from easy on the eye. He is set for end of season talks with Jeremy Peace will Peace feel that it’s time for a new direction at West Brom
Sunderland are going to have to start winning games if they have any chance of survival, if West Brom have another off day like they did at home to Norwich then The Black Cats have every chance. I’m going to stick my neck on the line and go with a win for Sunderland.
