Barcelona have cut the gap to just a point at the top of La Liga after results very much went this way over the weekend. Starting Gameweek 6 in third they have leapfrogged Sevilla in second and now are hot on the heels of their arch rivals Real Madrid.
They strolled past Sporting Gijon on Saturday with a 5-0 victory away from home. Lionel Messi may be out injured bt they need not worry as four different players shared the goalscoring responsibility. Luis Suarez opened the scoring while Rafinha made it 2-0.
Although Sporting Gijon were being outclassed the score was pretty respectable but all changed once they went down to 10 men. Neymar got in on the act to add a late double and Arda Turan finished off proceedings to make it a routine win for Luis Enrique’s side
