Real Madrid have lost their place at the top of La Liga after a third consecutive league draw yesterday at home to Eibar. Zinedine Zidane’s side had an 100% record after the first four matches but going into the international break they have lost that winning feeling as they once again dropped points at home.
Los Blancos were given an almighty scare after just 6 minutes when Fran Rico punished a lapse in the Real defence to give Eibar the lead. Parity was soon restored through Gareth Bale just 10 minutes later but Eibar were incredibly resolute and withheld everything else that Real threw at them.
Try as they might a much changed Real side couldn’t find the winner and that third consecutive draw means that their cross town rivals Atletico now sit top of the table. The pressure is mounting on Zidane after this result but a win after the break and this run will have all been forgotten.
Here is all you need to know from yesterday
