Real Madrid vs Alaves in less than 3 minutes

Real Madrid once again stay top of the La Liga tree after a routine home win over Alaves yesterday. It was a win that saw them move to 5 points clear over arch rivals Barcelona although that gap was subsequently cut to two after Barcelona’s win over Granada. Zinedine Zidane’s side did not even have to get out of second gear as they brush past Alaves with ease.

On a warm April afternoon Karim Benzema put Los Blancos ahead as the French international met Dani Carvajal’s fine cut-back. Real were dominant and although they hardly broke a sweat there was the odd moment where Alaves threatened, both Deyverson and Edgar wasted chances to equalise and they would rue those missed opportunities as the home side punished them late on.

It was two goals in as many minutes which would be the difference as Real made sure of all three points. With five minutes remaining Isco would double the home sides advantage and just moments later Nacho headed home after Gareth Bale’s free-kick had rebounded off the bar into his path. 3-0 to Real and a job very much done.

They may be two points clear of Luis Enrique’s Barcelona side but that is not forgetting the fact that they have also a game in hand, they play Celta at a date yet to be confirmed due to both sides involvement in European compeition therefore they are still trying to find an extra date but with fixtures coming thick and fast then it is going to be a very interesting period for both Real Madrid and Barcelona especially with the return of El Clasico this month. Real managed to nick a point in the very last minute at The Nou Camp and this time they will look to go one better in front of their own fans.
