La Liga 2017/18 Shot Efficiency – Week 11

Time to look at some more shot efficiency now as my whistle stop tour of Europe continues, I’ve already worked out who were the most ruthless teams in La Liga after the first 10 weeks of the season and now it is time to return back to Spain and see where we are at after Week 11.

Once again I rank the 20 clubs in order of shot efficiency and not only that I also look at the variance of a team’s league table position to that of their ranking in terms of ruthlessness. Here we can then ascertain as to which teams are under performing and which teams are over performing in La Liga.

From next week I will also build in a third chart where we can then look at the change in ranking week to week, so that way we can get a real grasp of the movers and shakers. This is something that I will replicate across all five major leagues going forward.

Not only that but thinking ahead we can also start looking at an average line and see just where exactly that is and which teams sit above or below the average shots on goal in their respective leagues. This should give us an opportunity to drill further down and see which teams are finding the net with more regularity.

Next up the project will continue with a trip to Ligue 1 for the first time as we look who tops the charts in France, to be honest I doubt there will be all that much of a surprise!

Thanks as always to whoscored for the data.

I hope this is of interest to you and if you have any football data work available then please contact me at realfootballmanwordpress@gmail.com as I am always looking to undertake additional projects to the ones I already have. Thanks, Dan.
