Another week of Premier League action is in the history books and it’s fair to say we have a title race on our hands thanks to Manchester United managing to do the business at Chelsea on Sunday. But when it comes to Premier League Predictions, I think it’s fair to say that I have not managed to do the business over the Easter weekend. Well there is no point dwelling on matters, lets now take a look at how I fared.
Saturday
Tottenham vs Bournemouth – Tottenham Win YES
Crystal Palace vs Leicester – Crystal Palace Win NO
Everton vs Burnley – Everton Win YES
Stoke vs Hull – Draw NO
Sunderland vs West Ham – West Ham Win NO
Watford vs Swansea – Draw NO
Southampton vs Manchester City – Manchester City Win YES
Sunday
West Brom vs Liverpool – Liverpool Win YES
Manchester United vs Cheslea – Draw NO
Monday
Middlesbrough vs Arsenal – Arsenal Win YES
As you can see a bang average 5 out of 10. It seems as there is a clear divide between picking the matches involving the big teams and getting them correct (bar the goings on at Old Trafford) and failing to get any of the predictions correct in the games where there is a bit more thought required.
It’s picks like the above that are never really going to make you rich really. But in terms of the race to hit 55% percent, it will have taken a slight hit and we could have done with just one more to get closer to the target. The strike rate now sits at 172 out of 319, which for all you maths fans is 53.9% – meaning I’m 1.1% short of the target with 5 gameweeks left to achieve it.
This coming gameweek is curtailed due to the F.A. Cup but I might throw the extra midweek games in to balance it out, that will probably make more sense in all fairness. Therefore keep an eye out tomorrow for a bumper week of predictions. Until then.
