The Loyal Eleven, Who Would Make The Team?

With Francesco Totti now retired after an incredible 28 years of loyal service to Roma, it got the people over at Clubline Football thinking. Could you make a team out of players that have only played for one club and if so, how good would that team be?
In this piece, we’ll create said team and show you just how long each player has played for their club and how many appearances they’ve made in total. Now not only is this band of loyal soldiers in a well balanced 4-3-3 formation but it is also one that has produced a pretty ominous looking lineup.

With modern players too busy updating pictures to instagram these days and earning very very high salaries then the concept of a player being loyal is not all that of a familiar one. Add to the fact that players seem to move on every couple of years and it is easy to see why fans feel a disconnect with their club.
A testimonial used to be something to be proud of as a player would be rewarded after 10 years service at their club with a chance to take home a full grounds gate receipts in one final match before they retire but now it is an incredibly rare sight for a player to give a decades efforts to just one employer.
Not only that but with the wages that they earn then it would be somewhat ludicrous for those same players to also take home a full days takings. Now the money goes to a charity of the players choosing with Michael Carrick’s recent Manchester United testimonial being a perfect example of this.
So with that in mind it is time to take a look at this team created from a loyal band of one club stalwarts and again a big thanks to Clubline Football for the content.
