Hot Costa row spills over to a Violent Conduct charge from The F.A.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following his side’s win over Arsenal on Saturday.

Costa puts his hands in the face of Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny and then clashed with Gunners’ defender Gabriel, who was sent-off.

The FA has also charged Gabriel with improper conduct and both clubs with failing to control their players.

All parties have until Thursday, 24 September to respond to the charges

Editor’s N0te: Well it was only going to be a matter of time as Diego Costa seems to have not got away with his on field antics on Saturday. The fact that the player wasn’t even booked on Saturday goes to show how badly the game was refereed, although there is nothing to indicate that Mike Dean will be taking a week off from refereeing duties. The charging of Costa will go some way to appeasing Arsenal fans who were incredibly perturbed over the weekend but as far as they are concerned it’s probably too little too late. As for Costa the sooner he starts being a decent Footballer and not a professional wind up merchant the better the game will be, although there would certainly be less column inches to write for people like me. I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ve heard on this one
