With it being 2016, I’ve decided to sign a few new faces in the January Transfer Window in the way of some guest articles. First up is an article from Stefan a Netherlands based blogger. He has just created a new blog called

Stefan’s first guest article on the realfootballman blog is a list of the Top 100 Premier League Signings in history something which is quite relevant what with us being in the opening days of the transfer window. So without further ado over to you Stefan.
Over the last years the transfer fees for players went sky high. It’s only 15 years ago Manchester United paid a record of 18.5 million pounds for Ruud van Nistelrooy. Fourteen years later Manchester United paid more than three times as much for Angel di Maria. Therefore, I’ve created a list with the 100 most expensive Premier League signings. At the end of every transfer window I will update this list.

Thanks Stefan for that interesting list, there are certainly some bargains and a few eye watering transfers in that list some of them that will make you scratch your head and think “why on earth did they spend that much on him?”
