It’s that time of the Summer when Premier League clubs discard their unwanted goods in preparation for another spending spree, as always it’s a long list of casualties and as per usual there some releases that will grab the headlines.
Victor Valdes ends his miserable spell at Old Trafford, a period mired with inactivity and injury finally comes to an end while former teammate Nick Powell who was once destined for great things after a move to Old Trafford sees his time come to and end
Across Manchester Pep Guardiola will have started his clear out with Martin Demichelis spell at The Etihad coming to an end after three years. While another former Manchester City Defender is also consigned to the scrapheap with Liverpool’s Kolo Toure being shown the Anfield exit door. The Ivorian has already been linked with a move to Monaco so I wouldn’t expect him to be out of work for too long
There’s no real surprises at The Emirates as the midfield trio of Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini are not being retained. Another ex Arsenal player has been shown the door at Selhurst Park with Emmanuel Adebayor’s spell there being not a particularly memorable one.
The Togo international was only signed back in January with the possibility of an extended contract past the end of the season. The fact he only scored once for the South London club means that Alan Pardew has decided not to exercise that option
Evergreen Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer leaves Leicester, that’s two Premier League Medals in two seasons. He may be 43 but if your club signs him in the Summer it could be a good omen

Strikers Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham leave Sunderland, along with former England defender Wes Brown. Danny Graham was signed for £5m and scored just 1 goal in 42 appearances, fantastic bit of business there I’m sure you will agree
So if you were to make a Premier League scrapheap XI then there isn’t a bad pool of players to choose from, whether you would stay up next season though remains to be seen.
