Good Evans as Cellino names Sixth Manager of Leeds Ownership

Leeds United have appointed Steve Evans as their new head coach, replacing the sacked Uwe Rosler.

Evans, 52, who has signed a rolling contract until 30 June, is Leeds’ sixth head coach since Massimo Cellino took over the club in April 2014.

Rosler, 46, was sacked on Monday after just 12 games in charge with Leeds 18th in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Cellino has been banned from running the club by the Football League for the second time in a year.

Editor’s Note: It’s never dull at Elland Road is it, with another Manager coming in through the ever revolving door. In all honesty I don’t think anyone ever thought that man to be Steve Evans. Very much a chequebook Manager, especially as his time at the helm of Crawley. The big question is will he get that level of free spending at Leeds United, I would say probably not. Therefore this will be a real test of his managerial abilities to see if he can turn round Leeds’ fortunes of late and awaken the sleeping giant. What price him not even lasting the season?
