English Premier League – The Early Predictions

Now that the new season of the Premier League has been underway for a few weeks, fans are getting back into the swing of following their teams at the games or from home or the pub – and some of them like to give things a little extra kick by betting. With the season a few weeks old we are starting to get an idea of the strengths and weaknesses of the teams in contention for the Premier League title and this piece will look at them and which one might come out on top.

Last season’s unlikely champions Leicester City have found things a little tougher at the beginning of this season – including a heavy defeat at Anfield – but there are signs they are finding their feet. Last season’s stars Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy are starting to score again and new signing Slimane made a great debut impression. Many pundits don’t give Leicester a hope of challenging this season and the bookies have them at a 100/1. The Champions League will certainly make it more difficult, but the Foxes could surprise us. Manchester City are one of the hot favourites, at just 4/6, and they have made a superb start under fabled boss Pep Guardiola. Five wins from five matches has them on top of the table, and last season’s disappointments are already being banished. They only just scraped into fourth place last year, but the revival of players like Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne under Guardiola makes them the team to beat.

Rivals Manchester United are finding it harder under their new manager Jose Mourinho, with early season optimism having been blunted by three successive defeats. This has seen them drop to odds of 14/1, with the loss to City in particular showing Mourinho has a lot to think about. At the moment it looks like being as disappointing for United as the fifth place finish last season, where they never found form or momentum. Chelsea are another side with a new manager, Antonio Konte, and again they found themselves coming up short in a key early match – this time against Liverpool. Last season was awful for Chelsea, as they finished mid-table and sacked Mourinho and this year they should be back in top four contention but don’t look like champions yet – despite 10/1 odds. Too many players still look old and slow and it appears to be a rebuilding job for Konte. The dark horse title contender this season looks like being Liverpool, who overran Chelsea in the recent match at Stamford Bridge and play with a speed and intensity that most will struggle to match. They have jumped up the odds rankings to 5/1 second favourites, but the test will be their ability to maintain that intensity and there are still question marks about the goalkeeper and defence – which let them down last season. Of course, it’s pretty early to make a prediction and playing a slots game like Soccer Safari on online casinos will let you bet on football without having to try and judge the Premier League winner so soon in the season.

Playing Soccer Safari gives you a shot at the big jackpot and if you manage to combine that with picking the Premier League winner you will really be in the money.
