Crystal Palace vs Newcastle – Match Preview

Crystal Palace are expected to be without Bakary Sako, who suffered a hamstring injury against Sunderland.

Alan Pardew may opt to start fit-again striker Maroaune Chamakh, with Connor Wickham’s place under threat.

Newcastle have a midfield crisis with Cheick Tiote (groin) likely to join Jack Colback on the sidelines. Yoan Gouffran, Florian Thauvin and Siem de Jong are all possible replacements.

Papiss Cisse is pushing for a recall up front for the goal-shy Magpies.

Editor’s Note: Alan Pardew faces his old club Tomorrow as he looks to rejuvinate a Crystal Palace side who slipped up at home to Sunderland on Monday. The Eagles will ask themselves how they didn’t get at least a point earlier in the week against The Black Cats but now they have to put that behind them as they host the other North East based Premier League side.

Palace seem to fare better away than they do at home but they won’t want to lose to two relegation threatened sides in the space of 6 days and defeat would more than likely see them slip out of the top half of the table.

Newcastle were overwhelmed by the Jamie Vardy party last week but after beating Bournemouth 3 weeks ago will be looking for more success on the road Tomorrow. The Eagles have only won 1 game in their last 5 and I think that run will extend to 6 by the end of Saturday. That said I don’t think Newcastle will mimic Sunderland with a late smash and grab, I can see this being honours even at Selhurst Park
