Copa America – Argentina vs Venezuela in less than 5 minutes

Last years Runners Up Argentina booked their place in the Copa America Centenario Semi Finals with a comfortable win over Venezuela.

It was a night that saw Lionel Messi become the joint top Argentinian goalscorer of all time and with at least one more game to play in the tournament it would be no surprise to anyone if he was to then go and break that record

But it was Gonzalo Higuain who opened the scoring after 8 minutes and he would be on hand again just before the half hour to double Argentina’s advantage

Lionel Messi would get his moment in the history books on the hour as his goal made it 3-0. Venezuela did manage to pull one back through West Brom’s Solomon Rondon but the three goal advantage was restored just a minute later when the in form Erik Lamela made it 4-1 and capped off the goals for the night

Argentina now go on to face the United States in the Semi Finals while Venezeula will go home after a respectable showing.

Here is all you need to know from last night
