Chelsea vs Bournemouth – Match Preview

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is available after three months out, while Nemanja Matic is fit despite needing a facial mask to protect his broken nose.

However, John Terry, Ramires and Radamel Falcao are not yet ready to return following injury lay-offs.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has refused to say whether goalkeepers Artur Boruc and Adam Federici will be available to play at Stamford Bridge.

If neither is fit, Ryan Allsop will make his first Premier League start.

Midfielder Harry Arter is out with a hamstring injury but should return soon.

Editor’s Note: Chelsea managed to take a point away at Tottenham last week in a result which suited them more than it did Spurs. Jose Mourinho set out not to lose last Sunday and the offering on the pitch wasn’t that memorable, it says a lot about the game when the main talking point was Diego Costa and a bib.

This evening Chelsea play host to a Bournemouth side who got a point of their own last weekend but in much more dramatic circumstances thanks to their 97th minute equalizer at home to Everton.

Bournemouth now find themselves in the bottom 3 since Sunderland’s revival is starting to take shape but credit to Eddie Howe he isn’t changing his style or philopshy when it would be easy to change tact to try and get results and there’s no reason to suggest his side will play and different when they visit Stamford Bridge.

They’ll go up against a Chelsea side which is slowly but surely starting to find it’s groove but still only finds itself 14th in the table. I would envisage their mini revival to continue this evening and a comfortable home win should be on the horizon for the Blues.
