- Where else to start but Barcelona
- An absolutely emphatic win for the Catalan giants as they battered Celtic into submission
- 7-0 it ended which in turn was Celtic’s heaviest ever European defeat
- In fairness it could have quite easily been double figures
- How different it could have been had Moussa Dembele slotted home a first half penalty
- He had the perfect opportunity to level the scores at 1-1 but he saw his spot kick well saved by Marc Andre ter Steffen
- And that was as good as it got for Brendan Rodgers’ side
- Ever the spin doctor, the former Liverpool boss went on to say that there can be no embarrassment after that performance
- Whereas Captain Scott Brown called the performance unacceptable
- All depends what point of view you want to take I guess
- I said in my preview that Barcelona were going to be a wounded animal after being beaten by Alaves on Saturday and they were exactly that
- Whoever had the misfortune of playing them next where going to be in for a long night and that is exactly what it was for Celtic
- It was a very short night in Manchester as the rain got the better of Manchester City and Borussia Moenchengladbach

- I did predict a draw but PSG should have put that game to bed way before Alexis Sanchez’s equaliser

- The longer the night sent on you had a feeling that Arsenal may just nick something

- It could have nearly been all three had Alex Iwobi not seen his effort saved in the final few minutes
- A win for Arsenal would have been incredibly harsh on PSG but they only have themselves to blame for wasting so many chances
- Bayern Munich steamrollered Champions League new boys FC Rostov last night with a 5-0 win at The Allianz Arena
- The manager may have changed in Bavaria but things seem to be the same

- Last year runners up Atletico Madrid came away from Eindhoven with a 1-0 win in a night of questionable refereeing
- PSV had an early effort ruled out and then were awarded an incredibly soft penalty which was subsequently saved by Jan Oblak
- There were also question marks of whether or not Saul Hughes’s winner should have stood
- A night to forget for the English officials
- Napoli came from behind to win against Dynamo Kiev. New signing Arkadiusz Milik was on hand to score a brace
- While 1-1 was the order for the rest of the evening as Benfica had to make do with a share of the points against Hesitate
- While Basel were held at home to Ludogorets
