In Case You Missed Me – Issue 1

In you case you missed me, radio contact has been established and normal service has been resumed. The good news is that I am back after a well deserved summer break and ready to write some content once again, I think it is fair to say that over the past 2 years I have written an absolute multitude of content and because of that it was time for a well earned break.

The football season as we know it may have ended with the Champions League Final at the end of May but it never really ends does it. Even in in my week off from working on the website there has been action in the Confederations Cup and the European Under 21 Championships.

So although I have missed out on discussing the initial stages of both tournaments I am ready and willing to discuss the business ends of the competitions. Even when not writing last week I have had a fleeting glance at the slim offerings available.

Cristiano Ronaldo has led Portugal to a win over Russia in the past few days while England’s participation in the European Under 21 Championships continues as their performances have improved as the tournament has progressed.

I watched New Zealand vs Russia last Saturday and it must be said that the All Whites defending in that game was nothing short of shambolic, when you are on the world stage and defend how they did then quite simply they are not doing themselves any real favours.

Of course there has been transfer news with the Merseyside clubs stealing the headlines over the past seven days or so. Liverpool as you know by now have completed the signature of Mohamed Salah from Roma while Everton are spending big with the capture of Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford being the pick of the bunch.

In managerial circles it is all change again as Southampton rightly or wrongly say goodbye to Claude Puel while Crystal Palace finally announce a managerial appointment in the form of former Ajax and Barcelona legend Frank De Boer.

I am sure there has been a whole host of stuff that I have missed but I needed to recharge my batteries for what will be another busy season ahead (more importantly a World Cup one also). So as always thanks for reading and more importantly sticking with me.

I hoped you missed me and are ready for full steam ahead as we look towards the 2017/18 season – One final thing in Spain the equivalent of the Championship season is still going with the playoffs only finishing this evening, talk about an arduous season.
