Bournemouth vs Newcastle – Match Preview

Bournemouth pair Artur Boruc and Steve Cook are both fitness doubts, having missed the last two games with respective thigh and ankle injuries.

Junior Stanislas and Joshua King impressed as substitutes last weekend and are pushing for recalls.

Newcastle’s goalkeeping injury crisis could result in a Premier League debut for 18-year-old Fred Woodman.

Rob Elliot is a doubt with a thigh problem and could join Karl Darlow and Tim Krul on the sidelines.

Editor’s Note: 4 defeats out of 5 for Bournemouth and no Premier League win since beating Sunderland at home on Septemeber 19th, Bournemouth are starting to find how much of a struggle the top flight can be. The Cherries have looked a different side since Callum Wilson’s injury and you worry where the goals are going to come from.

Beaten in their local derby last weekend against Southampton they were far outclassed in the first half but did finish strongly although ultimately they still came away empty handed. Can they pick up a win against a Newcastle side who has only one once in the league all season.

With Newcastle’s Goalkeeper injury crisis, the answer is very much possibly although Freddie Woodman did earn many plaudits with his performances for Crawley Town on loan early in the season, so I guess he’s as ready as he’ll ever be.

With Bournemouth lack of goals and Newcastle defensive worries – it’s hard to call how this game will pan out, I’m going to sit on the fence and go with a draw. It’s more of a game that neither one will want to lose, is it too early for a relegation 6 pointer?
