Earlier in the season when these two sides met Bournemouth pulled off arguably the upset of the season as Glenn Murray’s late goal gave Eddie Howe’s side a shock win and hammered one of the last nails in Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea coffin.
Bournemouth will be looking to pull off an unlikely double as they play host to soon to be former defending Premier League Champions Chelsea at The Vitality Stadium this Afternoon.
Bournemouth currently find themselves 13th and after reaching the all important 40 point mark with so many games to spare the season has been an undoubted success. The only thing Eddie Howe has to do now is make sure they don’t coast along to the end of the season.
It’s a good thing they did secure safety early as the fixture computer has not been kind as of late. It has served up Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool in the last 4 games and now with the arrival of Chelsea on the horizon it’s a good thing they are not battling for survival.
Chelsea in 10th are having the most mid table season possible. 11 wins, 11 draws and 11 losses. It doesn’t get anymore bang average than that really. Although after Guus Hiddink’s long unbeaten run he has now suffered back to back defeats
Last time out they were well beaten by Manchester City at Stamford Bridge that in other season would have been a title decided but last Saturday couldn’t have been further from it. That said with Leicester and Tottenham still to visit Stamford Bridge they are going to have a huge say as to who takes their Premier League trophy.
As for Today, I think Chelsea will bounce back with a win but don’t expect it to be a classic as both sides seasons are already finished. Away win for me.
