I timed that one right, I’ve just had my lunch and the BBC Sport Gossip Column has been updated for the afternoon. So while I digest my lunch you can digest all the gossip. Here goes…

(Sport via Evening Standard) It’s a link that just will not go away, their perhaps is some mileage in it but are Real Madrid using it as a David De Gea shaped smokescreen?

Fabio Borini’s transfer from Sunderland to AC Milan is set to be confirmed after the 26-year-old Italy forward was pictured having a medical with the Rossoneri. (Chronicle) Unless he fails the medical due to having legs made out of biscuits then expect this one to be completed soon

Monaco and France midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, 22, has edged closer to completing his £35m switch to Chelsea after having a medical with the Premier League champions. (Daily Mirror) The sooner Bakayoko arrives at Stamford Bridge then the sooner Nemaja Matic moves to Old Trafford

Swansea City are in talks to sign Dutch goalkeeper Erwin Mulder. The 28-year-old Heerenveen player has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave on a free transfer. (Daily Mail) There must be a very obvious Mulder and Scullyr reference here, with it being in Wales you could throw in a Catatonia reference also (ask your older brother)
