The first weekend of the 2017/18 Premier League season is in the history books and what a week it was, 31 goals across 10 matches and one of them was a boring stalemate between Southampton and Swansea. I don’t know about you but I need a breather from all that action and what better way to relax then to read this morning’s transfer gossip.

Leicester City will turn down a £31.8m bid for Riyad Mahrez, 26, from Roma as they are determined to have their £50m valuation met. (The Mirror) If the two can meet in the middle, then I reckon £40m will be enough to see Mahrez move to the Italian capital

West Brom could let Nacer Chadli, 28, leave but only if they find a suitable replacement amid interest from Swansea. (Express and Star) All part of the Gylfi domino effect that could be set to come into play.

Paul Clement has pleaded with the Premier League to shut the window before the start of the season as he continues to fight off interest in Swansea forward Gylfi Sigurdsson, 27. (Daily Mail) He’s not the first manager to suggest that, maybe the window needs to end on August 1st instead?
