Aston Villa vs Watford – Match Preview

Aston Villa defender Jores Okore is available for the first time this season after regaining fitness following knee surgery.

Jack Grealish has been left out of the squad as punishment for his off-field behaviour last weekend.

Gabriel Agbonlahor could miss a third straight game because of a calf injury.

Watford have no new injuries but Valon Behrami remains a doubt with the knee problem that caused him to miss Saturday’s defeat by Manchester United.

Editor’s Note: After celebrating what felt like a victory against Manchester City, Aston Villa reverted to type last weekend when Everton thumped them 4-0. Remi Garde obviously knew he had a job on his hands when taking over at Villa Park but I don’t think he quite knew the extent of what he has got himself into.

Villa now sit 5 points off the drop zone and haven’t won since the opening day of the season another defeat here and they could potentially be cast adrift as we enter December. Remi Garde’s preparations won’t be helped by the fact that Jack Grealish is making the headlines this week for all the wrong reasons and with no Gabriel Agbonlahor upfront they may struggle for goals tomorrow.

They face a Watford side who will consider themselves unlucky that they didn’t manage to nick a draw last Saturday Lunchtime at home to Manchester United. Troy Deeney got his second goal of the season from the spot but after leveling late on they conceeded in injury time to give United all 3 points.

The Hornets currently sit 13th but with Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney looking like a good partnership this season I think they will have too much for Villa to handle tomorrow and will come away with all 3 points. An away win for me tomorrow.
