4 players who could find their futures away from Stamford Bridge this Summer

After covering the big clubs in North London and then the North West my tour of Premier League clubs now takes an illogical turn back south as it’s now time to run through the Chelsea squad and see who could be for the Stamford Bridge exit door this Summer. With Antonio Conte now ready to take charge of the club now that Euro 2016 has come to a close he will undoubtedly be looking to overhaul a squad that fell far short of expectations last season. He will be certain to bring a host of new faces in so let’s see who will be leaving West London over the next few weeks.

Loic Remy

The French international only managed a solitary goal in 13 Premier League appearances last season and has now been pushed further down the forward pecking order now that Belgium’s Michy Batushyi has joined the club.

The 29 year old has always had to make do with a bit part role, that said though in the first season of his time at Chelsea he chipped in with 7 goals in 19 appearances at The Blues went on win the title. Unfortunately for Remy the departure of Mourinho meant that his chances of getting minutes on the pitch had diminished

The former QPR and Newcastle forward can still do a decent job on his day and provide a goal threat as fans  of those two former clubs will attest, if Remy does decides to stay in England then you would imagine that he would have no shortage of suitors for his signature

Victor Moses

Moses has now had loan spells at three different clubs. Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham have manage to borrow the services of the 25 year old and you have to wonder if this will be the Summer when a club finally signs him permanently and ends his time at Stamford Bridge

For a winger cum forward the criticism of Nigerian born Moses is that he doesn’t score enough goals. The single goal in 21 appearances for West Ham last season will solidify that claim add the fact that he has only scored 6 times in the last 5 seasons across all those club he has been at and you begin to understand why his services won’t be retained by Antonio Conte

That said this is someone with a relative amount of Premier League experience, perhaps Moses just finally needs somewhere he can call home and then that club will get to see what the former Crystal Palace man is really all about

Marko Marin

You would almost forget that the  German international is still on the books at Chelsea such as has been his tour of European clubs on loan over the past 4 years. He has been loaned out to Sevilla, Fiorentina, Anderlecht and Trabzonspor and it’s fair to say with mixed results

Sevilla saw his most successful stint as he was part of the Europa League winning side of 2013 while a spell at Fiorentina didn’t even warrant any game time. That was subsequently followed by solid if not spectacular stints in Belgium and Turkey.

With Chelsea having such a bloated squad you wonder where if at all Marin would fit into Antonio Conte’s plans. It looks as if Marin is going to have to make sure he has located his passport in time for the next European adventure

Christian Atsu

Another midfielder who has toured Europe other the past four years but perhaps at not such salubrious locations as Marin. Like many young players that Chelsea sign his first port of call was the Eredivise in Holland where a stint at feeder club Vitesse took place that saw 5 goals registered in 28 games and off the back of that Roberto Martinez declared Atsu a much heralded loan signing for the following campaign.

But it was one that only saw 5 Premier League appearances and failure to get on the scoresheet. That loan move failed to pull up any trees and his time at Bournemouth was even less prosperous as he didn’t even play a minute of a league game.

So disappointing was that spell at The Vitality it was cut short by Christmas of 2015 with a move to Malaga somewhat resurrecting his career. Another player who looks set to have his career stalled by Chelsea after getting hoovered up in one of their many bulk purchases and then never given the time to make the grade.  Like many others before him he’ll have to move elsewhere to show what he is really capable of.
