The fourth week of this Premier League season is complete and it has already seen its first managerial casualty as Frank De Boer has been sacked by Crystal Palace. To be honest if I was a tipster I would probably have to sack myself as it has not been a particularly good day at the office. Lets have a look how I fared in regards to my predictions.
Saturday
Manchester City vs Liverpool – Manchester City Win YES
Arsenal vs Bournemouth – Arsenal Win YES
Brighton vs West Brom – West Brom Win NO
Everton vs Tottenham – Draw NO
Leicester vs Chelsea – Chelsea Win YES
Southampton vs Watford – Draw NO
Stoke vs Manchester United – Manchester United Win NO
Sunday
Burnley vs Crystal Palace – Burnley Win YES
Swansea vs Newcastle – Swansea Win NO
Monday
West Ham vs Huddersfield – Draw NO
Oh dear another four out of ten, that has been the case for a third week in a row now. Manchester United’s draw with Stoke was something of a coupon buster but I probably should have had more confidence in backing my own team Tottenham.
Interestingly I have incorrectly picked the outcome of Tottenham’s matches in every week of the season so far, not sure if I am a help or a hindrance in all fairness. What I do know is that it is proving to be very difficult to make correct predictions.
Out of the 40 matches that have been played, I have got just 17 correct. This means I am on a strike rate of just 42.5% for the season so far. There is going to have to be an upturn in fortunes pretty quickly or we could be in a very long season indeed.
As always though like any bad gambler, I shall be back with another raft of picks on Thursday. So until then
