The Premier League may have bought a whole host of misery as far as I am concerned after Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal on Saturday, truth be told I did not even watch any more football that weekend. But thanks to some podcast therapy I’m now back in the groove so to speak. I wish I could say the same about my predictions though.
Saturday
Arsenal vs Tottenham – Tottenham Win NO
Bournemouth vs Huddersfield – Draw NO
Burnley vs Swansea – Burnley Win YES
Crystal Palace vs Everton – Everton Win NO
Leicester vs Manchester City – Manchester City Win YES
Liverpool vs Southampton – Liverpool Win YES
West Brom vs Chelsea – Chelsea Win YES
Manchester United vs Newcastle – Manchester United Win YES
Sunday
Watford vs West Ham – Draw NO
Monday
Brighton vs Stoke – Brighton Win NO
A bang average five out of ten for last weekend then solid if not spectacular. The thing is though solid is not going to boost my strike rate any time soon. I need to be hitting seven’s and eight’s if I am too truly move the needle closer to the 50% mark.
In terms of my ongoing rate for this season, I currently stand at 44.16%. If I was to get all 10 right this week then I would be just under 50% for this campaign – wishful thinking I am sure you will agree. However it does seem as if the table is now finally starting to balance out.
Therefore it should be a case of picking the top six each week and then getting some luck with the swing games. You could also make a case for the fact that every team from 8th to 20th is a much of a muchness really therefore as competitive as the league is it makes it even more difficult to predict the outcome.
Like a glutton for punishment I shall be back on Thursday for Week 13’s predictions, let’s all hope that it is luck for some. Until then.
