Editor’s Note: Tottenham are currently 9 Premier League games unbeaten since their opening day defeat at Old Trafford and face a managerless bottom of the table Aston Villa, surely this must be a home banker….mustn’t it?
Although if we don’t win tonight it would be an incredibly “Spursy” thing to do. A win would take us 5th and just a point of Manchester United in 4th, with every game that Chelsea keep losing without getting ahead ourselves all of a sudden the Champions League looks a slightly more realistic proposition.
A run of three London Derbies after tonight are lined up for Spurs after tonight so I’d say it’s almost crucial to get a win tonight. Aston Villa have just announced that Remi Garde will be their new boss but it’s too late for him to be in charge tonight, although he will be sitting in the stands observing his new charges. The Villa players will no doubt be looking to impress their new incumbent boss and this could give them a bit more of an edge tonight.
That said after Spurs put 5 past Bournemouth last Sunday with Harry Kane getting a massive confidence boosting hat-trick plus they haven’t played in over a week therefore they should be straight out of the blocks and here’s hoping they deliver in front of the White Hart Lane faithful tonight. A home win for me (if not this laptop is going in the bin)
