Soccer Saturday (Tips)

Right after a dry spell over the past two days, it’s time to get back on the tipping trail and see if we can win some more pounds over the weekend.

Going to offer up another treble for Saturday which although not groundbreaking by any means should be the right balance of risk v reward. I like to favour a slightly more cautious approach and win (well try to win) little and often then opposed to going for the more gung-ho larger accumulators as I feel they are akin to throwing your money away due to the lack of times these actually come through.

So first up we’ll go The Championship and I’m going to tip Watford to beat Brighton away. The race for the two promotion spots in the Championship is the tightest that I can remember, I may even be right in saying it’s the tightest ever. With that being the case none of the 4 teams chasing can afford to slip up so all the contenders will have nothing less than a win on their minds. With Blackburn beating Millwall on Tuesday night it means Brighton are now safe from relegation therefore they won’t have too much if anything to play for Tomorrow lunchtime. Therefore I can’t see anything less than a Watford win tomorrow at The AMEX.

The next tip is for a near identical reason, Middlesbrough to beat Fulham away. Again Middlesbrough are one of those 4 teams in the race for those 2 automatic promotion spots and with them sitting 4th they know if results go against them they will be consigned to the play-offs, therefore it is pretty much win or bust for them tomorrow. Also like Brighton, Fulham are safe from relegation so don’t really have anything to play for tomorrow. So for the same logic as Watford being tipped, I’m also going to tip Middlesbrough to get all three points at Craven Cottage.

Finally to complete the treble, it’s the evening kick off at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City take on Aston Villa. After a slump in form Manchester City looked somewhat nearer the level their performances should be at on Sunday albeit against a West Ham side whose season has long since fizzled out. With Aguero back in the goals again and City still having to make sure they secure at least 4th place to obtain Champions League football next season, I think they will be too much for an Aston Villa side who will no doubt still be on a high after their Wembley win last weekend. Obviously Tim Sherwood won’t allow his charges to start dreaming of Cup glory just yet as they still have Premier League safety to secure but with them up against a Man City who have only lost twice in the League all season I think this is going to be too big a call for the Villa.

So to recap that’s Watford, Middlesbrough and Man City to all win. £5 will return you £15 on Betfair so a steady treble at 2/1

Again my tips are by no means the gospel (as the last two days have proved) but if you do take this advice then best of luck and happy tipping!
