West Ham vs Liverpool a few quick thoughts

- It’s not been a good few days for Liverpool
- Giving away a two Goal lead on Saturday and out of the F.A. Cup on Tuesday
- They haven’t beaten West Ham in four attempts this season
- A dramatic end to end tie at Upton Park sees The Hammers win it with the last roll of the dice in Extra Time
- West Ham gave the Cup it’s full respect while again Jurgen Klopp put out a much changed side in the Cup
- Both sides swapped the paint of the goal frame with both Philippe Coutinho and Dimitri Payet hitting the post
- The Hammers went in front from a well worked move and Michail Antonio volleyed high into the net
- Philippe Coutinho got a deserved equaliser when his clever free kick was rolled under the wall past a helpless Darren Randolph
- West Ham should have definitely had a Penalty in the Second Half after Enner Valencia was pulled back but Referee Roger East failed to give the decision
- Christian Benteke probably had the most guilt edged chance in the first period of Extra Time but his effort was straight at Darren Randolph
- Liverpool would be punished for that wastefulness as with the game set to go to Penalties a West Ham Free Kick was whipped in and Angelo Ogbonna’s header powered into the net in what proved to be a dramatic winner
- Upton Park was rocking last night in what potentially could have been the last ever Cup tie on that ground but at least they are still in the Cup and have the possibility of doing it all over again
- As for Liverpool realistically the sole focus is now on the League Cup Final on February 28, still a huge work in progress for Jurgen Klopp’s side
